At Central Coast Casino, we believe in supporting the community that supports us. We have been blessed with being the number one cardroom in SLO County, in 12 out of 13 catagories for six years in a row! We are also the most profitable cardroom in the area and believe that we have a social responsiblity to contribute at several different levels.
We support World, State and Local Charities. We anonymously support a wide variety of charities and organizations geared towards children. We don't want the impression of trying to make kids gamble, so we contribute under different names.
We have been cleaning the 101 Freeway once a month through the "Adopt A Highway" program. At this point there is no sign acknowledging Central Coast Casino even though we have done so for the last three years. Our volunteers include owners Dave and Theresa Stearns, former Cal Poly Professor Bob Burke, several employees and some local players that want to do their part to keep our beautiful Central Coast area clean.
Our most recent fundraising endeavours were a tournament for fireman Greg Otto and a tournament for the Central Coast Gymnastics Acrobatic Team.
Greg Otto, a young fireman was surprisingly struck with a fast spreading form of cancer. Area firemen and Central Coast Casino players joined hands to raise over $5,000 for Otto's family. In all of the fundraisers we have done, this was the most money ever raised in a single tournament.
In the planning stage are a series of 12 fundraising tournaments (once a month) with the overall champion being entered into the 2006 WSOP (World Series of Poker)... A $10,000 buy in.
